[Moderator's note: Is this a factual query? Should postings like this ones be allowed in rec.arts.cinema? If you have an opinion one way or another, please send mail to cinema@zerkalo.harvard.edu. Note, by the way, that the author of this note redirected followups to rec.video. --MKT] I am seeking information including literature cites on the technology behind black and white film colorization. What companies are currently involved in film colorization? How do their processes differ? What is the role of the computer in these processes? What are the limitations of these processes? Have their been any recent innovations in film colorization? I am not interested in the ethics and aesthetics of film colorization at this time, just the technology. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. -- Bruce C.
