I'm hoping that someone out there who knows his or her SCSI can give me some advice. Maybe even someone from Adaptec or Western Digital (are they on the net?). Let me not waste time... The drive is a CDC Wren IV (1546cyl, 9hd,46secs) with an embedded SCSI controller. My computer is a 386 PC-Clone, ISA-BUS (not EISA), Pheonix BIOS (Older one == No drives defined >1024cyls), no net adapters, VGA card. I would like to run the WREN but know zip about SCSI controllers for my bus. I have zip for a formatter (1st problem), and no drive table that has enough cyliders to use it if I did have a formatter (2nd problem). Anyone provide/know-of a SCSI controller *WITH BUNDLED SOFTWARE* (== formatter, partitioner, and on card BIOS to translate sectors > 46 to cylinders > 1024 tranparently) that could run this card? Any replies welcome. Hope I didn't take up too much space or post to an inappropriate group. -- Jeff Gortatowsky-Eastman Kodak Company .....sun!sunrock!kodak!elmgate!jdg (716)-726-0084 Eastman Kodak makes film not comments.
