[net.space] Addendum to NASA description for locations to apply

eugene@ames-lm.UUCP (Eugene Miya) (05/23/84)

My management probably wouldn't believe the time spent reading news.

In my long message describing NASA locations to apply, I forgot to
add to major NASA Centers (neither of which I have visited):

Langley Research Center, Hampton VA (near Norfolk, and
not near CIA HQ). It is part of an AFB. It is the oldest
NASA Center. They do high performance aerodynamics and other
testing. They are also the home of ICASE: Institute foe Computer
Applications in Science and Engineering. It is mostly a
numerical analysis group with some work in computing such as the
Finite Element Machine. They are on the net: uvacs!icase!%s.
They use big CDC machines such as a Cyber 203.

Lewis Research Center, I think near Cleveland, OH. They also
have a Cray-1. They do things such a flight research and the
fluid dynamics of flows like those in engines. They like the Marshall
Center have a large investment in researching materials properties.

If you interest in these or the other Centers in my earlier message
[either because they are close to you location, or they have your interests]
feel free to contact me in the data given in my earlier messsage.
