We are looking at connecting a 160MB RD54 disk (taken out of a VAXstation 3200) to a MacIIx as an additional SCSI device. I have located a dealer who is willing to sell an enclosure for the disk with the power supply and an Adaptec SCSI-MFM adapter so that the Mac can talk to the RD54 disk. However, the dealer has no installation instruction sheets whatsoever and is not able to answer my queries on: 1. whether the Adaptec 400A has a proper SCSI terminator and 2. the kind of cabling I need to connect the Mac to the adapter on one end and the adapter to the disk on the other. I would be very grateful if anyone who has had experience with using a SCSI-MFM adapter board (esp. the 400A) with the Mac can pass on any useful tips on setting up and configuring this combination properly. Muchos Gracias in advance. Sundar_Prasad@mtsg.ubc.ca <Internet> userffa3@ubcmtsg <Bitnet> Civil Engineering UBC, Vancouver
