Well, I just bought a HD that came without the terminator packs (ie. the small, 8 pin ones that go right on the HD's circuit card.) It is the only SCSI device on the interface and my understanding is I need these for it to work. Right? The local stores don't seem to know exactly what I need, or don't have it if they know. A couple electronic stores do have resistor packs, though, so if I could just find out what resistance to use, I should be able to use some of those. (Am I correct in thinking that there is some sort of standard here and the resistance and # of pins fully describes the part I need?) I'd appreciate any info. While I've got your ear (eye), let me ask for one more bit of info. Would somebody please send me info on or a pointer (ala ftp) to the names of the SCSI pins. I don't need a full SCSI specification, just the pin designations. Some supposedly knowing person said one of the pins on my brand of SCSI interface was wrong. Now, normally I'd just ignore such comments, but I have had difficulty running several different brands of HD so I thought it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Thanks much, ======================================= = Simon Rademacher = = rademach%tramp@boulder.colorado.edu =
