HI,
I am interested in the finding an Exabyte/controller combination for
a Q-bus MV3600 which will give me full tk50/70 emulation under VMS
5.2 and newer or, at least, give me full use of the backup utility.
Our current unit was advertised as providing tk50 emulation but
does not. Specifically, it chokes on backup/verify, multivolume
save sets, and at other random times for no clear reason; "LONG GAP
ENCOUNTERED", "POSITION LOST", "SEQUENCE NUMBEWR RESET", "DATA ERROR"
and "UNRECOVERABLE ERROR" are some of the more popular symptoms revealed
with the analyze utility.
I would like to hear from anyone who has had success with the an
8mm under VMS 5.2 and, specifically, the controller/unit combination
you are using.
