I'm trying to install an HP 97548SF disk (663 MB) on a Sun 3/50, and have been running into some difficulties. Here is the configuration: Sun 3/50 Archive 60 MB cartridge tape drive HP 97548SF The Sun recognizes the Archive and can boot from a tape, but does not recognize the disk whatsoever. The SDTR jumper has been removed from the HP, so the SDTR message should not be confusing the Sun. The disk IS recognized when plugged into a Sun 4/110, so I know that the disk and cables are OK, and I've even tried using a cable with pin 26 (TERMPWR) cut. BTW, when this was first tried on the 3/50 we could initialize the drive and load software onto it, but not boot it. Sun repairmen replaced the motherboard (figuring that the firmware on the 3/50 was the problem); now it won't recognize the disk at all :-( Any ideas? Michael Lampi (206) 641-3941
