I had problems when I was using an older version of the 7000 FASST controller
and software. An upgrade to v3.36 ROMs and software is highly recommended.
As far as I'm concerned, SMARTDRV is a waste of memory, no matter what options
you give to SSTBIO.SYS. I've had no problems running Windows 3.0 with the
following drivers in my config.sys file:
either the HIMEM.SYS or QEMM386.SYS (v5.1)
SSTBIO.SYS
EGA.SYS (for window's EGA stuff)
I just dropped whatever else the windows program wanted to load up.

Hello,
Is anyone how there using a WD FASST 7000 and the SST
Drivers ver 3.35 or 3.36 with Windows 3. If so is smartdrive
required as it appears to make no difference (ie use /W or /WE for
v3.35) and is VirtalHDIRQ=FALSE needed.
If any one can help please Email me any information.
Thanks, John.
