I recently bought a Quantum PD210S 210Meg SCSI hard drive. I was pleased until I noticed that the controller card (a Future Domain TMC-885) conflicted with my VGA card, and forced it into 8 bit mode. What I'm wondering is what problems I would encounter if I switched to a true 16 bit card? Would it be a simple swap-and-boot with no problems, or would I have to reformat the drive?
