[comp.periphs.scsi] formatting 1024 byte blocks with aha154xB - ideas?

herbie@bruce.cs.monash.OZ.AU (Andrew Herbert) (01/17/91)

Any ideas on how to format a scsi hard disk with 1k blocks with an
adaptec 154xB? I have tried the dc00:6 (or whatever address it is :)
ROM format routine (which only asks for interleave), and neither
scsictrl.exe or scsi.exe seem to allow this to be changed.

It seems somewhat pointless using 512 byte blocks (the default) when
DOS is using 4 blocks per cluster and the unix ufs filesystem uses 1024
byters.

Thanks for any ideas,
Andrew Herbert
