I was wondering if someone could answer this question. I recently purchased a 386SX (16mHz) machine. The machine came with an I/O floppy/hard drive controller as an all in one, but it obviously supports IDE hard drives. I didn't realize that the I/O & the IDE controller would be on the same card. The SCSI drive I purchased is a Seagate ST296N (84 Meg) and the card is the ST-01. I haven't been able to get the SX to recognize the SCSI. So, what I'm trying so ineptly to ask, is can I get CMOS to recognize the SCSI drive WITH the existing cards that I have. OR--do I have to go out and buy the ST-02 card with floppy controllers? Or is there something else that I haven't thought of yet? Thank you so much for any help you can offer. The tech support at the company I purchased the computer from referred me to Seagate, but I haven't been able to get through to their tech staff yet. --Lisa Purvis
