[comp.periphs.scsi] adaptec 1542A and more than 2 disks under DOS

herbing@netmbx.UUCP (Uwe Herbing) (01/25/91)

Hello adaptec spezialists,

is there a device driver available, which allows you to use more than 2
scsi fixed disks connected to an adaptec 1542A host adapter.

If yes, where can I get it and how much to pay for.

Thanks in advance
Kai

Yes, it is an adaptec driver that will support multiple controllers, assign
logical names to other drives beside c: and d:.

As for where to get it I suggest calling adaptec. Their number is in your
manual.....

I suggest a faster & more productive route would be to call the vendor who
sold you the controller & get the software. Adaptec won't sell it to you
directly unless you are a large OEM.

BTW, the software is known as ASW-1410, and can be obtained from a number
of distributors, such as CalAbco (where I got mine).
