[comp.periphs.scsi] MAC meets PDP-11

robert_moore.valley_one@qm.gateway.apple.com (Bob Moore) (02/23/91)

Has anyone tried to read PDP-11 files off a SCSI drive using a MAC? I've
got the cable hooked up and I can see the ID and some HEX/ASCII data, "but
that ain't a SCSI driver".
I have lots of documentation and sample drivers now, but the more I read
the more intimidating it gets!
I have transferred some files over RS-232 @ 9600 using KERMIT (graphics,
basically TIFF) but I also need to read "All Points Addressable" files.
The trouble is that it takes about 12-15 minutes to transfer an image. My
goal is to try to write some hypercard (or something) to give me either
pull down menus or buttons to make this thing more...user friendly? (non
MAC users, pardon the expression!)
It seems like someone, some sicko out there "must" have done something
like this before!
Now, if I can upload my first message!
