Hello netfellows, I am searching for the specs of the SCSI specs (both SCSI-1, and SCSI-2). And when I talk about specs, I mean the following: 1. The pin layout of the connectors. 2. The electronic signals, timing and so. 3. Bus protocol. 4. More? I want it to make a system that can be connected to a computer with an SCSI bus, so that this computer can communicate with my system. The computer will 'think' that he will be 'talking' to some kind of harddisk. The bustransfer will always (and only) contain blocks of data. For those of you who are interested in the application itself: I will use it in my homestudio for music recordings and editing. The system will be used to store and retrieve lots of digital audio. The system will include *lots* of fast RAM as (temporary) storage medium, yes you could say some kind of ram disk. The reason why I want to use the SCSI bus, is that I can use standard harddisk driver. This creates another advantage: A lot of standard software products will be able to work with it. My skill is both hardware and software, but I have never worked with the SCSI in detail. I only used it to connect a hard disk to a computer. Thanks in advance. -- John Janssen Note: this is a private request. Venlo, Holland. Reply: johnj@idms.prl.philips.nl
