I have been using the 1740 (standard mode), with ISC 2.2 for a month or so
now with no problems. I have also used the 1542B in the same system under
ISC 2.2 with no problems.
The 1740, under ISC 2.2, looks about 30% faster.

Do you have any idea of when the 1740 will be supported in enhanced mode
under ISC and SCO? What type of increases could be expected with the card
in enhanced mode? Thank you for any light you can shed on this. I do have
a 1740 here that was sent for OEM evaluation and I have been unable to get
any exact information about the above.

Hopefully, ISC will have enhanced support very soon. Under other OS's where
enhanced support is done (i.e. Netware 3.1), performance has been roughly
30%-50% better. It mostly depends on the drive you are using. We used a
SCSI-2 version of the Wren VII drive. If you are using a 296N, you would
not get any measurable performance gain.
