Well, I can't vouch for the Priam drive, but the 1542 will not issue a SCSI
bus reset unless told to do so.  The only time the SCSI bus is reset by the
1542 is at power up.
You might check your termination out.  If the drive is not properly terminated
this type of thing might occur.
