Typically, as you step towards higher capacity tape drives, they maintain the ability to read the lower capacity tapes, but not neccessarily be able to write to the lower capacity tapes. The QIC-150 tape drives can usually; write/read QIC-150 (150MB, DC-6150, DC-600XTD) write/read QIC-120 (120MB, DC-600A) read QIC-24 ( 60MB, DC-600?) I don't believe any of them can handle the QIC-02 format, but I could be wrong here.
