I have a 386sx with a 80 meg SCSI drive and ST-02 host adapter. I bought a used mfm drive which has attached a ST-506-SCSI converter. I have thus far been unsuccessful in (trying) to format the drive. FDISK can do nothing with the new drive, because it is not formatted, and format can do nothing because the computer sees no drive there. I tried debug, with all the addresses which the seagate manual said were possible, but that did nothing but crash the computer. Can somebody give me a quick run-down on how to format a SCSI hard disk with my (rough) configuration? Note that I have no seagate- provided software. Thanks in advance, Troy -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Troy Hildebrand | That'll be the last | The Internet: more than just tlhilde@en.ecn.purdue.edu | teacup I have... | a free phone system!
