I bought a DTC3280A SCSI controller at a PC flea market (yup, I know that is not too wise, but the dealer IS local and has a real store with good evening hours, even). Anyway it simply refuses to run in a 386sx I bought it for. I have tried EVERY possible memory address dip switch setting. The DTC tech support says it has to be my VGA card, so go buy a new one! If there is anything horrible additional I should know about DTC SCSI controllers please Email. If something interesting comes of this, I will post. They also said to get drivers for much of anything else there is a $45 per each driver charge if available. I was hoping to eventually add more hard disks, a CDROM drive, a 3 1/2" DAT drive (soon to be cheap, hopefully), and maybe a floptical or even just a 2.88meg 3 1/2" stiffie drive. Is there some GOOD but reasonably priced controller with CHEAP or free drivers that might be more tolerant of whatever is on my bus and that this dealer might be willing to upgrade me to? Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I just started reading this. Thanks, Barton bruce@camb.com
