[comp.periphs.scsi] Fast & Wide SCSI

cfj@iSC.intel.com (Charlie Johnson) (05/11/91)

Does anyone know what is the current status of fast and/or wide SCSI ?? NCR
has announced the 53C916 and the 53C920 which supposedly will get to
to fast 32 bit SCSI. (See March 14th, 1991 issue of Electronic Design)

Has the cabling issues really been settled ?? Does anyone know if any
vendor are actually shipping fast or wide SCSI drives ??

Fast SCSI-2 devices are around. Imprimis, HP, WD are a few that are shipping
Fast SCSI-2 drives. More are coming. Wide SCSI won't be around for at least
another year. And maybe longer.
