[comp.periphs.scsi] 1Gbyte scsi drives for sun3/280

We need to add another disk to our sun3/280.
We think the easiest way is to add a scsi disk to it. We need one in the
1Gbyte range. What is a good, easy to install disk. There's been
a lot of talk of the Fujitsu 1.2Gbyte drive. Any ideas? Also what
kind of prices should we expect to pay in Canada (Toronto) for such
drives.

By the way we use sunOS 4.03

Last fall we added the HP 97549 to our sun 4/280 running 4.03 with
no real grief. We had been running an Emulex scsi controller which
was talking to two Esdi drives. The SCSI cable had been extended
out of the drive area when we had added the Optical drive. Now even
with an Exabyte we have had no problems. The drive is fast and trustworthy.

We have also placed one on a Decstation 3100 as a boot device. The Computer
Science Department here likes them also. At my last job at Heurikon Corp.
I brought in HP and we were very pleased with them.

With 5 year warranty, they used to cost 3k in US, I have heard that
they might be acquired for even less here now. Canada cost ???????
