[comp.periphs.scsi] SunCD on an Apple Mac...?

Angus.Fox@UK.Sun.COM (Angus Fox) (05/23/91)

I have a Sun Microsystems SONY CD ROM 8012 drive for which there
is no available Apple Driver. I have the correct cable as I can see the
drive through SCSI probe in the Mac Control Panel.

I have tried Apple's (which appears to work only with Apple's Drive),
and MicroTech's (Optical Media International's) Toshiba CD ROM driver
which appears more generic but it still does not function.

What I really need is a generic CD ROM driver (Macintosh source code would
do) with a user definable CD Drive Type and Block factor.

If you can help me please email - if there is sufficient interest I'll summarize.
