[comp.periphs.scsi] Run Bernoulli 20 meg removable with AHA1542a?

feustel@netcom.COM (David Feustel) (06/13/91)

IOMEGA has told me that it is possible to use a Bernoulli 20 meg
removeable drive with an AHA1542a controller BUT I have to get the
driver from Adaptek (or someone else). Has anyone done this? Does
anyone have such a driver they can send me? Thanks.

If you get any replys, I would appreciate you posting a summary here. I too
have an old (but very reliable) Bernoulli 20 Meg drive that I would love to
connect to an Adaptec controller.

Tandy sold (sells) the Bernoulli boxes and had an adapter for the
PC machines and Xenix drivers. I know this isn't the same as
hooking to the Adaptec, but at least you can use the drives. The
Tandy drivers do work with Xenix 2.3.3GT(UFM).

The part numbers are:
    Part # Price Description
    25-4081 149.95 Interface Board
    70-1502 99.95 Device Drivers

I doubt that these are still available, but you can try your
local Radio Shack/Grid computer center.

I have complete Tandy versions of the Bernoulli's. I would like to be
able to hook them up to the adaptec to reduce the number of controller
cards in my pc. I realize I'm making life difficult for myself.
