I have an Adaptec ACB-4000A scsi/mfm adapter that I would like to use with an AHA-1542B. It is necessary to do a mode select command with the drive's paramaters before formatting the drive. Scsicntl cannot be used for this, as the ACB-4000A does not seem to support the inquiry command. Does anyone know of software similar to scsicntl that can be used with a ACB-4000A to do the mode select? Ken Mitchum KY3B km@cs.pitt.edu

I never persued it further. Is the problem the lack of an inquiry command??? Alan Barrow km4ba | I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
