I am looking for a company named "Diamond."-- I think. They make computer periphials for ibm compatibles... My sister recently gave me an XT compatible with NO manuels or documents. This is my first dos machine. (been running cp/m since sis gave me a kaypro in '84) Two of the cards (the monoochrome monitor card and Multi-Input/Output card) have chips on them that show the following: Monitor Card -- Diamond '85 MG 200-1 (along with another chip w/ 200-2) - this card has a parallel port and what looks like connectors for another two ports or a port and a light pen. - it is a full-length card. Multi-Input/Output -- Diamond '85 MIO-100-1 - this card has 4 ports, a floppy drive controller and clock. Both of these cards and the motherboard have the same quality control sticker "QC-OK" on them which leads me to believe that they came together as a package from one company. I need the manuels!! I need to get hold of the Origional Equipment Manufacture so I can get manuels and info on these products. I have two other cards which I don't understand either... - Game Card by 'CH Products' (has a three position toggle above port??) - A language processor rev C from 'DATRAN' (what is this????) Also, I am looking for a good primer for the dos machines.....something that would go over what the dip switch on the motherboard controls, how ROM is used, etc. Something with a basic overview and maybe a little in depth. Perhaps a "How to build your own ...." type book? Any and all replies to be thanked graciously with a full 24 line page of smileys! Mike mjarvis@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU
