I have 2 Miniscribe 43 Mb hardisks in my Epson Equity III+ w/ the standard Western Digital controller. I am planning to upgrade to a Perstor PS-180-16-FN controller so that I can increase my capactity 90% (as advertised). The only thing is that I remember that before doing the low level format last time (when I installed the second hard drive) I entered in a list of sectors/tracks/clusters (whichever) that were reported to be defective/bad. I cannot find this list for either of the drives. Is this critical??? Can I do the low-level format without it and expect to get the correct results? If not is there a way to dump out this info from the disk itself? I used SpeedStor to format one disk and DiskManagaer to format the the other. Please e-mail directly to me ASAP. Thank you very much.
