pt@geovision.uucp (Paul Tomblin) (05/28/90)
I'm sorry I have to post this to comp.sys.ibm.pc.programmer, but it seems that many posters to this group do not understand what this group is here for. What follows is a Hall of SHAME!!!! It is one months collection of inappropriate postings to c.s.i.p.p. I don't want to act as net policeman, but I, and I'm sure many others who asked for this group, don't want it to become another comp.sys.ibm.pc. That group is too noisy to be worthwhile reading, and I'm hoping that this group keeps a higher signal to noise ratio. The following messages were posted to comp.sys.ibm.pc.programmer, where they had no business being. c.s.i.p.p is supposed to be for programmers to discuss programming ibm-pcs, not just another group to cross post when you are asking questions to comp.sys.ibm.pc! BTW posting source or programs to this group is a bad mistake. If it doesn't go to comp.binaries.ibm.pc or comp.sources.misc, then it's not archived, and it will not be available to people with FTP access or mail servers, and it will never appear on a UUNET tape. All that effort will go to naught! I believe one of the moderators has already made this point, however.
