I wish Microsoft Technical Support was told what was being shipped. One of my colleagues here called them up this afternoon because it APPEARS that Codeview 3.0 disables all interrupts on the serial port interrupt controller. After 20 or so minutes of discussion, he was informed that Codeview 3.0 is only a beta-release product, and Technical Support couldn't help him with it. Codeview 3.0 is what is being shipped with Microsoft C 6.0. It is NOT beta-release. Does anyone know if our suspicions about disabling the interrupts are correct? -- Clayton E. cramer@optilink.UUCP (Clayton Cramer) <3713@optilink.UUCP> : - [ problems with Codeview 3.0... ] -he was informed that Codeview 3.0 is only a beta-release product, -and Technical Support couldn't help him with it. - -Codeview 3.0 is what is being shipped with Microsoft C 6.0. It is -NOT beta-release. I dunno --- this sounds to me like confirmation of some widely held beliefs about beta-testing versus the shipping of version numbers that end in `.0'. I detect three statements which are not mutually exclusive even though they may seem inconsistent: "CV 3.0 is being shipped", "CV 3.0 is beta-release", and "Technical Support can't help with it". :-) :-)
