[comp.sys.ibm.pc.programmer] CTTY Replacement? Suggestions?

elliott@optilink.UUCP (Paul Elliott x225) (07/03/90)

Advice please! I need to find a replacement for the CTTY AUX method
of controlling an AT from the serial port.

A while ago, there was some discussion of the horrible nature of CTTY, and
I have experienced this first hand (lousy buffering at reasonably fast data
rates, locking up when a <backspace> is received, etc.) I am currently
running one program on a remote AT, so I built in my own serial support, but
I would like a more general solution. It would be nice to have stdout go
to the remote screen, rather than back through the serial link.

Help, anybody? Commercial products are ok, freely hackable source code
would be great, I'll even take vague suggestions and handwaving right now.

I will summarize.
