[comp.sys.ibm.pc.programmer] Paradox Engine

atieu@skat.usc.edu (Anthony Tieu) (07/18/90)

I just bought the Paradox Engine 1.0 from Borland. The documentation
said it needs Turbo C 2.0 or higher or Microsoft C 5.1
Is Turbo C++ the next version of Turbo C 2.0 ?
Anyone has experience with this?
Is there any ftp sites out there that has Paradox Engine applications?
Thanks for your help.

TC++ will ALMOST work. In the (online) documentation with TC++, it says
that you must make a few changes to the header files, but they are clearly
documented. Therefore, check the distribution disks (I don't remember the
file), make the changes, and compile. The changes are bracketed off with
conditional compliation, so it will still be backwards compatable

Good luck

Yes and no. "No" more than yes. Turbo C++ V1.0 is a new product, but, as I
was told by Borland, you can effectively replace Turbo C 2.0 with Turbo C++
1.0 as far as maintaining TC2.0 functionality. Personally, I'm going to
install TC++ separately from TC2.0 and keep both around for a while. As good
as Borland products are, version 1.0 compilers (from anyone) can't be trusted.

[I have no affiliation with Borland International except as a satisfied
customer.]
