Hello netters, I am trying to use the IBM PC (compatible) to do real-time control. And, I need access to some kind of a clock. The timer of the system (an intel 8253) provides the interrupt IRQ0; but it seems that IRQ0 is being used by BIOS to maintain several system functions. Besides, that provides with only one programmable counter (may be a limitation). Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated. Please respond by direct mail to me (I do not check the news very often).
