I have an batch of old GROUP and VLIB files on the disk which should have been deleted by the daily purge, but haven't. No doubt this problem stems from when I had difficulties in starting up. Is it save to simply ERASE these by hand?

Is it save to simply >ERASE these by hand? If the groups still exist in NETNEWS GROUPS (but just currently have no articles in them), then no, don't erase these files.
