[bit.listserv.politics] communicating with international relations students

RMARLIN@AUVM.BITNET (renee marlin-bennett) (02/10/90)

I am sending this message to several lists with names that seem to
be relevant to social science methodologies or international
relations. If this message constitutes junk mail for you, I
apologize.

I teach an undergraduate course called, "QUANTITATIVE APPROACHES TO
INTERNATIONAL POLITICS," an introduction to methodology, statistics,
and computers as used in our field.

I hope to offer my students the chance to earn extra credit by
    (1) having them use bitnet to discuss international
relations issues with a student at another
university (a sort of academic, electronic
        penpal), and
    (2) having them use bitnet to collaborate with
students at other universities on joint
        research projects.

I especially hope to recruit participants from outside the
United States.

Interested students and professors should please contact me
as soon as possible via bitnet, telephone, fax, or regular
mail.

if you are a student interested in the collaborative research
project, I will need to communicate with your professor in order
to set the ground rules so that academic credit can be given
honestly and fairly.

THANK YOU.
