I normally stay away from commenting on this part of the world, folks tend to
get too vitrolic. But, wating Ariel Sharon resign as Labor Minister and cause
Shamir to leave a Likkud meeting shouted down as a "coward" led me to wonder
what people thought about these two things.
1)Is Likkud on the verge of a split, if so, who is the long-term benefitee?
2)Are elections for the Palestinians in the Occupied territories feasible, will
they work, can they happen, is Shamir on the right track to pluralism in that
part of the world?
