Well, Joycelyn, I hate to tell you this, but I am a "Beefatarian" and so are meny persons I am in aquaintence with, by that I mean that I love, and have absolutly no qualms, moral or otherwise, about eating beef. Now, I must admit, your point about better feeds, better conditions (ie: I personally boycott veal, due to the abject cruelty in the treatment of the animals, and the danger of the high level of antibiotics in the meat), is a good one. It would be interesting to see what the true quality and the levels of antibiotics are contained in McD's beef. As for the recycling of styrofoams, and other plastics, this is really a fledgling science in that not much work has really been devooted to it. I have one suggestion for the imeadiate improvement of the environment: Get the government out of the energy business! Cut the regultaions on Oil companies, but also make them 100% liable for ALL damages to ALL private property. You bet if that happened you would see triple hulled tankers with compartmentalization of the oil holds. You would see quick and efficient spill cleanup methods developed...all because they could lose their entire business if they did not take these measures. Get government out of the electric power grid. The more efficient and cost effective plants (again with 100% liability clause) would win out. New mwthods of energy production would become available much faster and at a lower cost to individuals...Individual energy production would be possible. Oil should be used for the production of special plastics and other materials, not burned up, never to be available again. The single most important answer is staring us in the face...Get Government Out. Enforce 100% liability for your actions. David T. McKee
