TWENTY-FIFTH EDITION OF THE DIGEST OF EDUCATION STATISTICS

In the fall of 1988, more than 1 out of every 4 persons in the
U.S. participated in the educational process.  A broad
statistical overview of the activities and accomplishments
of those approximately 65 million Americans is now available
from the National Center for Education Statistics with the
25th edition of the Digest of Education Statistics.

The Digest is divided into seven chapters: All Levels of
Education, Elementary and Secondary Education, Postsecondary
Education, Federal Programs for Education and Related
Activities, Outcomes of Education, International Education,
and Learning Resources and Technology.

In addition to updating many of the statistics that have
appeared in previous years, this edition contains a
substantial amount of new material, including:
