[comp.sys.concurrent] Ethernet <=> Concurrent 6450

khj@ms.appstate.edu (Kenneth H. Jacker) (02/26/91)

We are awaiting a new SLS-6450 real-time system from Concurrent.

In order to get us connected to our campus network ASAP, I thought I'd
ask this news group for guidance in which cable, transceiver,
etc. is recommended to connect the machine to our Departmental (thin)
ethernet. Our campus buys a lot of Cabletron equipment, so actual part
numbers for them would be most useful.

Have you connected a Concurrent machine to an ethernet? If so, please
write to me with any suggestions. Thanks!

[I would recommend the Cabletron ST500 transceivers. We use them all the time
on all types of systems. -- sob]
