Does anyone know if Concurrent supports (or plans to support) the System V Release 4 Transport Layer Interface (TLI)? I am interested in moving from RPC to transport-independent RPC (TI-RPC) so that my network applications can run on networks with protocol layers different from TCP-IP. (P.S. Thanks everyone for the tip on using GNU tar to accomplish an rdump.) -- Dan dan@seti.jpl.nasa.gov Articles to: concurrent@soma.bcm.tmc.edu or uunet!soma.bcm.tmc.edu!concurrent Administrative stuff: concurrent-request@soma.bcm.tmc.edu Stan Barber, Moderator

TLI will be supported in RTU 6.0 (just going into beta, and don't even think of asking me when it will start shipping ... ). Unfortunately we will still be shipping the old version of SUN RPC/XDR, which just supports TCP/IP with a socket interface. The Networking/Communications group would really like to hear your wishlists - the reality is that there are far more networking standards out there than we can realistically support, so we have to prioritize. Knowing our customers' requirements and wishlists helps a lot.
