I'm pretty sure that John Lurie played in the Lounge Lizards...I've also got the itching thought that someone else (John's bro?) in the Waits/Jarmuschian ilk is also in the band, which by all accounts is great live. Still waiting for 'Train' to come out anywhere nearby... J

I haven't seen 'night train' yet either, but the reviews I've read say its Jarmusch's best. It takes place in Nashville, I think, and combines three separate stories (sort of like 'Down By Law' in that respect). By the way, after wringing the acid out of Heidi's message, I've found that I agree a little with what it says. I just signed up a little while ago and i'm somewhat disappointed in the topics of discussion. Hope it gets better soon. 'Call me Bob'

O.K. What the heck... I'm very glad there the list of subscribers to this discussion group is growing New opinions and fresh view points are always welcome. I am also very sorry some of the newer members are disappointed in the the quality of the discussion I've been on the list for about 6 months now (has it really been that long?) & while I am certainly not interested in all of the discussion topics, I do think there have been many spirited debates (does that make me sound too much like a weenie?). I do not agree with all the people on this list, but I never ex- pected to. I, for one, am very glad to have made the acquaintence of many of the people here, and hope I can meet some of them face-to-face some day. To those who are disappointed, please give the list a chance. If you are dis- appointed in the level of discussion, try a new topic yourself. I still wouldn't mind Steve's idea of literature to film. (I sent a reply a while ago-did it get lost? or was it just so stupid that no one felt the need to respond?) -jem
