According to information posted to VIRUS-L@LEHIIBM1, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and other sources, the person alleged to have created the AIDS INFORMATION DISK from "PC Cyborg" has been caught. This disk would also scramble the hard drive of your computer if you ran the program. Infor- mation about that disk was posted to this list several months ago. The disk was primarily distributed in Europe and Africa. Joseph Popp of Willowick, OH, has been charged with blackmail under UK laws, and extradition papers have been filed. Charges will probably be filed in other countries. He is presently being held without bond, and is under psychiatric review. For more information, see either the Cleveland Plain Dealer (available in libraries) or the online archives of VIRUS-L, or contact me privately. Otherwise, you may now continue with what you were doing before I inter- rupted you (: Doug (DOUG@YSUB.BITNET, DOUG%YSUB.BITNET@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU)

How interesting that they caught this guy. I grew up in Willowick, Oh. Did the article say how old the guy was??? It sounds a little familiar, maybe I went to High School with him. Who knows. Michael
