Dinkins. What a name. But, I think that is from some silly prejudice about
names that sound like yet another slang term for one's penis.
I like Mayor Dinkins comment. It shows that he cares about discrimination.
Not just the plight of African Americans in this country (and they have
certainly taken a lot of crap in the last couple of centuries just in this
country), but of any people discriminated against.
As someone on my campus said, "how can they say they are being discriminated
against, they aren't a race being oppressed".
Homosexuality is interesting that way. While many people are afraid to admit
it, it is the one "minority" that collects together across the bounds of all
stratas and segments of any culture(s).
