[bit.listserv.allmusic] Being reminded of things Kentuckian in nature...

PRESTON@MOREKYPR.BITNET (02/02/90)

Since we were talking about country (we *were* talking about country,
weren't we?), I guess I'll throw in my bluegrass question now... yes, I
know, they aren't the same at all, but in my mind, they are linked by
fact that both are very popular forms of music in this area.
Bela Fleck... heard of him? This guy *smokes* a banjo. Literally.
When he plays, smoke starts rollin' off the frets. I think he used to
play for the New Grass Revival, but I'm not really "up" on my bluegrass.
I've also seen an album by the Kentucky Headhunters, which I *think*
might have something to do with bluegrass... does this jewel grace
  anyone's collection?

Metal people: Have you heard of a band from Louisville called Bride?
If you have, what are they like? Someone told me they heard about them
from some rock-radio show, and they sounded pretty hot... ala Metallica.
  Well, Overseer... what's the verdict?

                                "n.n."

                          ... which stands for:

                               "no nick"

                              "no nukes!"

                              "'nad-'nad"
(Bob Gaj and Talking Drum aren't the only ones with 'nads)

... and if you use your imagination, "n.n." sorta looks like
two elephants walking away from you, with their young, from
          about 1000 yards away.
