Rando: Yep, I like King's X... in fact, I would go so far as to say that
they are the first "hard-rock" band in forever to come along that I thought
were worth listening to. They are a bit limited in terms of their sound,
which is pretty un-varied for the most part, and they are somewhat partial
to the key of E, but they still kick some serious gluteals. One of my
favorite cuts of off _Gretchen Goes To Nebraska_ is "(I Can) Feel the
Difference"... really great stuff. Glad you snagged that CD, Rando. :)
I have also heard someone say that King's X should be said "King's
Cross"... anyone else heard this? The gut that told me this was the same
guy that had that _Masked Maruaders_ album... which John never fully
explained to me, other than the fact that it was an elaborate hoax.
The very first album I ever bought? Must have been back in 1974 or 1975
when I was in 5th grade... ready for this one, folks? The Carpenter's
_Now and Then_ (I *think* that was the title... it was a double album of
cover tunes, if I'm not mistaken). Of course, a few years later, I was into
Kiss, Ted Nugent, Rush, Pat Travers, Styx, Kansas, etc.. So, sue me. :)
I'm rockin' in the free world...
