Has anyone heard of a band called Bauhaus? Bow House? something like that? Somebody told me they were a lot like King Crimson (swoon) but I think she was lying. She hadn't herd hardly any Crimso (horrors!), so . . . Good day and thank you for your support. -the vociferous snare

Bauhaus? Well, I haven't heard much of their work, but they're somewhat of a British avant-garde/'mope-rock' type band... Albums like *The Sun's Gone Out*, *Bela Lugosi's Dead*, etc. I believe an album of B-sides or radio sessions has just been released not so long ago. The band broke up a few years ago, and what has happened since does deserve attention... Peter Murphy first went on to the band Dali's Car, and now has gone solo... he's responsible for the not- bad album *Love Hysteria*, which has some even tranquil tracks ("Indigo Eyes" is a great one) at times. He's got a new album just out, *Deep*; I've only heard the first song, but it sounds great. Meanwhile, the other ex-Bauhaus folks (Daniel Ash and David J, and maybe one other) formed the band Tones on Tail... which has since mutated into a band that I'm sure you know about, Love & Rockets. Someone else can probably give you a bit more info if you want; that's all I know. -- Mark

Bauhaus (Not bow house) is a band that existed in the gothic period of the early eighties. They were a standard four-piece(Drum,Bass,Guitar Voice) and they were wierd. How wierd? They split and three became Love&Rockets(they stole the name from a good comic-book, by the way) dave r1se@sdsumus.bitnet "Your little life gets complicated It's a simple thing Simple like a flower And that's a complicated thing"

Woah Dave, (Flame On) Love + Rockets did NOT steal their name from a good comic book, look at the date of the old-old imports of the band and look at the date of L&R number one and you will find out the band is older. In fact, you can find some stuff kicked around as Love + Rockets before the original split. And I would like also to point out that the cmoic book producers had not heard of the band and so they did not steal the name either. Nobody stole nothing from nobody. Get you info right before you whip out accusations, unless of course your joking and I missed it, but I doubt it. - The Edster
