            I agree with you gavin, however up to a crtain point..I think
the director has to accomplish proper pronounced works, articulation, etc.
of the group otherwise the performance will suffer, and why have that experience
when the performance should be a glorious experience for all..I think that
if the director is a clever one, alot of bad feelings and boring moments can
be erased...I've had directors that were absolute geniuses in the way they
conducted the group, and ya know what, all the important techinques, etc. were
accomplished...
            I can understand how you feel, thinking the whole thing is a
"stuffy affair"...but it doesn't have to be...
