Did Steve Morse start out in Kansas? I think he was in the original
Kansas, but what I want to know is if he did anything before that...
I saw Kansas on their Spirit of Things tour also. They were great! Steve
Walsh (is that the vocalists name?) was pure energy. He did handstands on
his keyboards, and other acrobatic stuff... Cool. Night Ranger opened up
for them, so it was quite a cool concert. Night Ranger is another band that
started out great, then went down hill. The first album and Midnight Madness
were great... To my pleasant surprise Night Ranger played pretty much from
those albums, climaxing with "Don't tell me you love me". Good concert.

Steve Morse (before Kansas) did a solo album and tour (They opened up for
RUSH on the Power Windows tour)... If i'm not mistaken, before that..
him and his drummer during the solo tour (Rod Morgenstein - now the drummer
for Winger) were both in the Dregs (or something like that) .. it's been
so long for me, I can't remember (all my modern drummer rags were given
away.. *sigh* just hasn't been my life yet.. *grin*)

Ayup, Rod Morgenstein and Steve Morse were both in the Dregs. The
whole Dregs band was touring for a while. I thought there were going
to or did put an album out. They were in RI at either the Living
Room or at ummmm, sheesh, the one that closed down.

No, Steve Morse wasn't in the original Kansas. He's been in the Dixie Dregs,
and more recently the Steve Morse Band. From reading an interview, however, it
seems like he maybe is tiring of it. He's currently working on a solo album of
sorts in his home studio/farm in Georgia. And yes, he plays an incredible
guitar.
