As has been said, Steve Morse wasn't in the original Kansas. He formed and led the Dixie Dregs (a.k.a. The Dregs) for a number of years until they eventually disbanded. Dregs discography: Free Fall What If Dregs of the Earth Night of the Living Dregs Industry Standard Unsung Heroes Best of the Dregs Off the Record Morse went on to start the Steve Morse Band and put out two albums (that I know of) with that group. He later joined Kansas and appears on the "Power" and "In the Spirit of Things" albums. He is still in Kansas (to my knowledge) and has done one solo album "High Tension Wires". He is the most versatile and accomplished guitarist I have ever heard. -Karolchik (save the dregs for me)

Steve Morse's first successful (?) band was Dixie Dregs, in which he achieved his cult hero status among guitarists. He was an old friend of the guys in Kansas, and joined them just to make a living, more or less, in music. After that he became a full time pilot for about a year, which job he quit at the time he finished his solo work "High Tension Wires" (which by the way features at least one song of Drexe's). -Tapioca
