A bit late, but here are my anti-Valentine suggestions. Eurhythmics are a good source. Off their most recent album, "We Too Are One", especially "Don't Ask Me Why" and "(My My) Baby's Going to Cry". Reaching further back "Where Were You When I Needed You", writtten by P.F. Sloan (I had heard Rhino put out a compilation album of his stuff, but it's not reached these shores. Can anyone confirm/deny? Is there a CD?) and performed (alas) by the Grass Roots. Bob Dylan's "Love Is Just A Four Letter Word", but I don't think he ever recorded it; you'll probably have to go to Joan Baez's "Any Day Now" collection to find it. (Trivia: Joan Baez's father is a physics professor.) And probably the all-time best for the sheer unbridled joy of NOT being in love: "It's All Over Now" by Bobby Womack/the Rolling Stones. John McIntyre Physics - Astronomy Dept Michigan State University P.S. Yeah, you could play 10CC's "I'm Not In Love", but it's wimpy so why bother?

I have another. In My Darkest Hour by Megadeth, complete with the lyric "you just laughed hahaha--B*TCH!" it amuses me, anyway. --td
