The deepest I have gone into Christian rock music (briefly repeating here what I said a few weeks ago) was being interested in several Kansas albums ("Vinyl Confessions" and "Drastic Measures") and a solo album by ex-Kansas band-leader Kerry Livgren called "Seeds of Change." For me, these are enjoyable because they present a strong, positive philosophical viewpoint without getting too much into the dogmatic aspects of religion. If you haven't heard these, try them some time. P.S. Not all Kansas albums are religious, and these two are only partly so. Many Kansas songs are philosophical (e.g., "The Wall" on their "Leftoverture" album). One album that was not mentioned in our recent discussion is the Electric Prunes' "Mass in F Minor". This is a combination of gregorian music and psychedelic pop, with vocals in Latin. It is literally mass: Kyrie Eleison, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus, and Agnus Dei. Having been released in 1967 it is considered by many to be the first real rock-opera, although the term "rock-opera" was not coined until many years later. It is a very serious and creative work. -Karolchik the listowner guy
