    Graphics.  Search re-opened.  Tenure-track opening to start
September 1990.  Assist in developing graphics concentration for M.S. in
Technical Communication program and teach at both undergraduate and
graduate levels.  Expertise in theories of visual communication and in
electronic and print media desirable.  Prefer Ph.D. or master's degree
in hand; will consider ABD for instructorship.  Commitment to research
and/or theory-development as well as to excellence in teaching and to
the interdisciplinary nature of the department.  Rank and salary open,

    The RPI campus is located in New York State's Capital District, an
area rich in history and alive to the present.  Within an hour's drive
are the summer residences of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston
Symphony, the New York City Ballet, the Williamstown Theatre, and the
Lake George Opera Festival, as well as summer and winter recreational
facilities of the Adirondack, Catskill and Berkshire mountains.  New
York City, Boston and Montreal are within a few hours' travel by car,
bus, or train.
